Green lighting attracts life forms at the very bottom of the food chain first. As these tiny organisms accumulate, the next larger fish arrive to dine, and so on and so on, until the largest predatory fish in the area are hanging around for the easy pickings.

There is conclusive data that green light fishing is best and only for night fishing. Visible green light has a wavelength of about 510 nm to 530 nm which is near the center of the range , a green light propagates better and farther than other colors in fresh or salt water. With green light fishing you can submerge the light. This is safe, with our low-voltage methods, but is not a good idea for 110 VAC devices.
The goal is to catch fish, just as fisherman seek conditions where the chance of catching fish is optimized, so fish seek areas where the chance of catching their food is optimal. Most game fish seek waters that are rich in food such as smaller fish, or shrimp.
Scientific research shows that all of this food chain has eyes sensitive to the color of green. The water that fish live in is blue to greenish in color, depending upon how much and what kind of particulate matter is suspended in the water.
Since it has been know for a long time that a light attracts fish, shrimp at night, what is the best color for this light attractor? Base on visual receptors, the light should be green the space colors of fish and members of their food chain.
